Attend this half-day seminar and take Parsons’ beliefs and practices to a more contemporary level.  In this interactive half-day seminar, participants will:

• Learn about the evolution of career self-assessment
• Explore theoretical frameworks that move beyond trait & factor based assessments
• Experiment with state-of-the art assessments that counselors and clients are using with great success
• Learn to modify the assessments you are currently using so that clients can make more effective career decisions

This will be a hands-on seminar, and participants will leave with new assessment tools they can use immediately with clients.

Trainers: Amy Mazur, Ed.M, NCC, is a Career Development Specialist and Counselor Educator. Prior to her work in private practice, Amy was a Career Counselor and Assistant Director of Career Services at the Women's Educational & Industrial Union, where in addition to individual and group work, she created and developed the Professional Development Seminar Series for career development professionals.  As an adjunct faculty at Lesley University's Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, she teaches Vocational Development and Career Counseling. Amy is a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC), and is a member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA).  Amy also provides Career Counseling for the Career Moves division of Jewish Vocational Service, and Boston Career Link, a One-Stop Career Center in Boston, MA.

Martha Plotkin, M.Ed., MBA, is the Senior Career Counselor at the Career Moves division of Jewish Vocational Service.   A career changer herself, Martha has found satisfaction as a career counselor and coach for over ten years. At JVS, she works with individuals and groups, including facilitating Success Teams, Career Decision Making Groups, and Too Young To Retire programs. Prior to her life in the career development field, she worked in mission-driven event management, non-profit management, and affordable housing development. Martha is a member of the National Career Development Association.
