Strategic Skills Assessment Using SkillScan Advance Pack
This workshop is designed to improve your ability to help clients leverage their transferable skills in launching a first career, making a career transition, or advancing in a current career.
SkillScan’s Advance Pack gives career counselors an innovative and powerful tool for quickly identifying core skills and connecting them to career options and development goals. And SkillScan provides a powerful skill language for self-promotion. SkillScan’s Advance Pack features a helpful framework for integrating clients’ skills results with other assessment themes to deepen clients’ insight of their true preferences, and helps to expedite their career focus.
In this hands-on and interactive seminar, participants will:
- Experience a demonstration of Advance Pack and several exercises including
Skill Patterns and a new Values Assessment Exercise. - Participate in a case study that will increase participants’ ability to connect client
themes and enrich self-understanding. - Increase participants’ ability to adapt and optimize Advance Pack with diverse
clients and their developmental needs and goals.
TRAINER: Lesah Beckhusen, co-author of SkillScan Advance Pack. For over 25 years, Lesah Beckhusen, M.S. has successfully guided clients through their career crossroads while developing a suite of innovative skills assessment tools. Lesah specializes in training counselors on how to optimize their clients’ career assessment results. She is the co-developer of SkillScan’s flagship tool, Professional Pack, and is the creator of SkillScan Online and Advance Pack (2005). She is currently designing a new online assessment, Career Driver, to assist college students, career changers and career advancers in navigating change. Lesah is on the advising staff at the University of California Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
Fee: $155 members, $185 non-members, plus $30 materials fee which includes a set of SkillScan’s Advance Pack cards and 3 profiles.
