This general meeting will focus on an examination of barriers faced by international clients, along with services and resources that can support them. With seemingly constant changes in immigration policy in recent years, many career counselors are unsure how best to advise international clients. Come learn from experts about the latest trends in immigration policy, and best strategies, resources and options to guide this population.
The meeting agenda will feature:
· A presentation from Immigration Attorney Monique Kornfeld addressing the latest trends in immigration policy.
· A subsequent presentation will focus on strategies offered by OnWord Partner, a social-impact company devoted to the professional integration and advancement of foreign-trained/ licensed immigrants, refugees and asylum-seekers in the US. Shelly Hedstrom, OnWord Partner Founder and President and Jeff Gross, OnWord Partner Business Director will also guide our interactive breakout session examining case studies of immigrants seeking employment.
· Donna Esposito, Director of Career Development at Tufts University will briefly share effective higher education services and strategies from her work spearheading a task force to support undocumented students.
