About the Presenter Lynette Correa-Velez, M.Ed.
Lynette Correa-Velez is a trained Executive Career Coach leader with over 19 years of professional experience. She is the Director of Tech Launchpad which is an equity-centered tech initiative at Kennedy-King College (KKC) located in Chicago, IL. She is the Co-Founder of Velez Diversity Consulting and Creator of #CriticalCareerCoach and #ResumeSurgeon. She co-empowers, both in-person and virtually, with an equity-centered and intersectional lens. As a life-long social and racial justice advocate, Lynette is a current 3rd-year doctoral student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in the Diversity and Equity in Education with an emphasis in Human Resource Development (HRD) program. She has her B.S. from Lesley University located in her home state of Massachusetts and her M.Ed. is from the UIUC where both degrees are in Human Resources as a first-generation high school and college graduate. Lynette also has her Certificate in “DEI in the Workplace” from the University of South Florida-Muma School of Business. She is an active member of several professional associations such as the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE). Lynette has over 15 awards and honors in recognition of her passion as a career resource broker in support of all. She is also a former Education Social Entrepreneur and has served on several non-profit and for-profit boards such as the Lesley University Alumni Council and the Board of Advisors for Campbell’s Soup Company.
