Program Overview

In an era where AI tools like ChatGPT can answer career questions in seconds, what does it mean for co-op advisors, career counselors, and coaches?

Far from being obsolete, your role has never been more essential!

This interactive session explores the irreplaceable value of human connection in career advising, especially in a post-COVID world, where students and clients are experiencing record levels of isolation and mental health challenges. You’ll learn how to embrace AI—not as a competitor, but as a powerful tool that enhances your ability to support students and job seekers with empathy, nuance, and personalized guidance.

Together, we’ll:

  • Learn why your roles in either co-opertive education or career advising are critical to support individuals, in a world where mental health issues are on the rise, and students are having fewer than ever human interactions.
  • Share tools and techniques to integrate AI into coaching, co-op, and career development
  • Explore ways AI can reduce bias and increase equity in hiring
  • Encourage colleagues to embrace AI and use it to enhance current co-operative education, internship search, hiring practices, and to share AI best practices.
